Everyday, more people try blogging for profit and start their own blog to tell the world about their daily lives and passions.
A simple search in google will bring back a blog for almost any subject you could ever think of, from personal diaries to highly specialised technology and many more.

Most of these get very few visitors, if any at all. Only a very small minority ever make any money and even fewer make a worthwhile regular income. Your blog could be one of the money making minority and it's not that difficult to achieve.

Yes, I know some people are not really interested in making cash from their blog, but why not? If you are enjoying writing about your passions, then you might as well get paid for your efforts and start blogging for profit.

So how do you go about turning your blog into a money spinner?

Well, as your blog is about your passion or daily life, I'm not going to tell you to research a profitable niche and forget your ideas. What I want to show you are ways to make your existing blog start to make some money and grow financially.

I think the first thing I would do is write as much as I can about my subject. The more quality content written, the more the search engines will visit and index my blog. Whatever else you do, content is king. Next I would take a look at some popular blogs with a subject similar to mine and see how they do it. Maybe write a comment on one of their pages and get a link back to mine.

I would then join some related forums and make a few posts and comments, people will then start to get interested in what I have to say and maybe visit my blog.

To make money, websites/blogs need traffic and to get traffic we need to let everybody know we exist.

One of the best ways to do this is use social media sites like Facebook and twitter. Just let all your friends know and ask them to tell their friends. Another way is to add a link to your blog at the bottom of every email you send. Some people send lots of emails, so thats potentially lots of visitors.

The traffic is starting to come, so now it's time to start to make money.

There are many different ways to do this, but I would start with google ads and affiliate products as these offer less hassle and free up time to write content and build traffic. You can find affiliate products related to your subject by searching google.

If the traffic comes and you have good affiliate links, then sales will also come. Maybe slowly at first, but if you stick with it then it will build. Once your traffic builds to a good level, you will find companies will approach you and want to place paid ads on your blog. This could be another lucrative source of income.

The bottom line is – write lots of great content, tell the world, the visitors will come and some will buy from your affiliates.
